Elementary Summer Academy Enrichment course registration begins on Monday, March 17, 2025, and ends at 4:00 pm on April 18, 2025. Two enrichment locations will offer classes on a first-come, first-serve basis. All HCPS elementary schools have been assigned to one of the two enrichment sites to provide equal opportunities for access to enrichment classes.
Seats are limited, and HCPS parents are encouraged to register early. Elementary Enrichment classes are for current HCPS students only.

ARTS INSTITUTE - This exciting class will allow students to participate in various activities in which they will create, explore, and express themselves while learning more about the arts. Students will be grouped by grade levels (rising grade 1, rising grade 2, and rising grades 3 and 4) and will attend an art, music, and movement class each day. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: Rising Grades 1-4
BRIDGE BUILDING - Students will work in teams during this hands-on class to develop a company and build bridges! Students will learn about bridge structures and become “engineers” as they work collaboratively to build bridges using different materials. Teams will compete in various ways, including final bridge design, cost, and functionality. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: Rising fourth and fifth-grade students identified for gifted services in Henrico County Public Schools.
TYPING AGENTS: Summer Keyboarding Mission - Join our elite team of Typing Agents this summer for an exciting mission to master keyboarding skills! Students will embark on a series of typing challenges designed to boost their speed, accuracy, and confidence on the keyboard. Our young agents will unlock the secrets of efficient typing and become true keyboarding pros. Get ready to type, learn, and have a blast! Rising grades 4-5
DIGITAL CREATIVITY UNLEASHED: A Creative Adventure! - Embark on a journey to enhance a few of your LifeReady skills like Communication, Creative Thinking, and more! Join us for fun-filled classes where you'll learn how to create awesome digital projects. From video editing with WeVideo to graphic design using Adobe Express and Canva for Education, get ready for a creative adventure. PARTICIPANTS: Rising grades 4-5
CREATIVE CODING QUEST: Embark on an exciting adventure into the world of coding and robotics! In this hands-on course, rising 4th and 5th graders will explore block-based coding using Scratch and LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robotics kits. Along the way, students will experiment with Makey Makeys to create interactive projects and bring their ideas to life. The journey culminates in an epic challenge—designing and coding their very own game! STEM: Building Tomorrow’s Innovators Today! -In this class, young minds engage in the design thinking process to tackle real-world challenges and create innovative products. Working in teams, students collaborate with peers to construct solutions that ignite curiosity and push the boundaries of their imagination. FIRST LEGO LEAGUE EXPLORE - Join us for an exciting class where young minds will explore the wonders of the underwater world through the engaging and hands-on activities of the FIRST LEGO League Explore program. This year's theme, "Submerged," will take campers on an unforgettable journey beneath the waves, where they'll discover the mysteries of the ocean and the incredible technology used to explore it. WORLD OF LANGUAGES – FRENCH - Parlez-vous français? Join the fun as you learn French in a fun and exciting way. Sing, dance, learn a second language, and make new friends in the process. Explore the world of the French language and culture as you take a virtual trip to Paris and stroll down the Champs-Elysées, climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and eat French pastries. Welcome to DolphinFest 2025! - We are so excited to have new dolphins from around the world join us this year! This year’s convention will be held in beautiful Macapa, Brazil. All dolphins will have access to this lovely city via the Atlantic Ocean. Your task will be to design a dolphin with recyclables and participate in this unique adventure.
